You don’t realise just how handy a weighbridge is until you’ve got one. I’ll admit I’m slightly shocked just how much I’ve used ours since putting it in recently, no more guessing how much is in a bag, what weight the balers putting in each bale, calibrating sprayer volume, how many t/ac that field “actually” did the list just goes on.
It’s even getting a lot of interest from our caravan storage with people wanting to check they aren’t over loaded.

Ps. You also become everyone’s favourite neighbour?

Never had a weighbridge here, would be nice to have but no way to justify it. Our favourite neighbour has one just up the road which comes in handy now and again[emoji6] dad’s pretty good at estimating the size of the heap in the shed, yields are based off how far the combine gets before it’s full until it’s all sold and weighed on the lorries.

All the farmers I know who have £20k putting one in haven't regretted it - only thing they regretted was not putting one in sooner

You wouldn't see a quarry operator, not having a weigh bridge ....

Can't see why farmers who deal in bulk commodities and livestock not having one ?

So, you do not have a farm weighbridge but your stores are full (or are filling) with this years harvest .... wheat - barley - spuds etc etc.
Question: How much money do you potentially have in the Bank?

You have no idea how much you have in the bank. You may know how many tonnes you have in the store but you have no idea of the sale price until you sell it. Most farmers can tell how many bulker load there is in there own store, it’s called experience.

We have a weigh bridge on farm, it’s a Griffiths and forever going wrong so we’ve given up with it. Shopping this year for a new one.

Fortunately for me I do have a couple of neighbours with weigh bridges. 1 I buy maize from and weighing it out of the field is the best way to buy maize.
