Seeing ludlows restricted sale trade with your own eyes on friday might help you if it was possible. Job to value blind, £2/kgYes got some organic tb restricted stores to sell . Thus only AFU's can buy them . Just wondering what a fair price per kilo would be ?
Don’t think you would see any premium over conventional if your shut with Tb, anything well fleshed will sell well at the orange market. 500-750 wouldn’t be to far off the market For the b and w. Continentals 600-900 a lot depends on the animals. As per title really , gone down with TB and wondering what price Organic TB restricted continetal cross stores are making per kilo , also got black and white steers 12-18mths ? I’ve made the same at the orange market as I have as unrestricted stores for Devon’s in Exeter. AFU’s aren’t interested in organic as far as I’m aware.
Agreed, providing he has the capacity to keep them for the time being.Orange market buyers only want cattle that are within 90/120 days from being ready to kill.
Anything else you will give them away!
OP is better to wait untill they go clear if they have 12 month old cattle to sell or try to sell them private after the first SIT test.
What are stores doing at the moment got 16 fh steers for Saturday 18-22 monthsOrange market buyers only want cattle that are within 90/120 days from being ready to kill.

The black and whites as long as they are not P grades will be around 1.30-1.35 per kilo and the continentals depending on the sex of them will be around 1.65-1.80 In a market you may get more but unlike a clean market you cant take them home if you are not happy with the price. Sometimes you may get more if they are restricted as people need to fill lorrys up but generally AFUs get offered so many cattle it is very much a buyers market. I dont no any AFUs that are overly keen on organic cattle. As per title really , gone down with TB and wondering what price Organic TB restricted continetal cross stores are making per kilo , also got black and white steers 12-18mths ? Thanks, but unfortunetly I've already had a SIT and failed 2 months ago . Both intially on going down in the spring and at the SIT some of the reactors have came back with lesions . Like most around here we've been up and down with TB for some years now . At least overall we do spend more time clear than not so far, but my brother in law hasn't been clear in 12 years !Tb job is a nightmare going from my own experience.
If you can hang on untill your first SIT i would after you have done it sell them directly off farm but in the meantime to get the ball rolling talk to local agents/ ask around other local farmer if they know of any organic farms down with TB that are looking for stock, ie get the ball rolling so to speak.
Also ask AH what the situation is going clear because down here for example if you have TB reactor at test but they cant culture it and don't find it on kill they will then class that test as clear and only want one more clear test before they lift the TB2 ( used to be 2 clear tests after a reactor was found regardless of if that reactor had lesions on kill/ culture or not )
I didn’t realise there was such a thing as an organic AFU. Is that when they allowed grazing AFUs and the farmer who had it was organic? I always sell all my stores privately to AFUs they make be a little bit less but there’s no commission, or haulage so it’s swings and round aboutsThanks Harry,
that's pretty much what I have been offered . It's roughly the same as what I got 6 mths ago but while the clean market has increased recently seemingly the restricted market has not . I wasn't really expecting a premium for organic although I have in the past got the continentals away to an organic AFU .
Yes large organic farmer has an AFU . Not sure if he grazes them in the summer or not . I think you are allowed to house organic stock for final 3mths if finishing for beef .Unfortunately the agent says he's full due to being down with tb himself on another unit I thinkI didn’t realise there was such a thing as an organic AFU.
