We've had a Wareings building erected 50' span 14' to eves. 254 steel. Thought it looked a well made building until you said that[emoji53]
don't worry did a 60 ft span 18 ft to eaves in 15 ft bays 25 years ago no eaves ties and roof bracings 1 end only and its still fine all on 254x146 x31 ,it would be min 305x165 x40 now and brace both ends and eaves ties

Irish department of Ag have a brilliant online spec sheet for all building slurry tanks etc. Its a minimum spec but a very decent one which most would consider slightly over spec. Google.. Dept Agri ie s101

a 178x102x19kg is like you say 178mmx102mm, 7"x4", and its 19kg per meter (y)

You seem to be clued up on this subject so your advice would be appreciated. I have a building 80’ wide 20’ 4 bay It’s 24’ to the eaves. I’d like to put panels up to load to 4 m with grain. The steel is 533 x 210 82 ub. I know it’s a lot of steel but have no idea what it can take.

Your gable posts will be the limiting factor and the side brace and roof brace arrangement and sizes the main posts are adequate for grain load level fill with the correct rafters and connections 457 would work depending if post is tied to floor slab with hair pin bars
