About 9 inches of rain all year here according to local amateur online weather station. Somewhat dry to say the least.
I reckon when it starts it won't stop for months and the fields will be under water again.

All this talk of the weather for the winter I am not particularly concerned about as I am sure there will soon be talk of a white Xmas and a big freeze.
What I need is a period of sustained rainfall before we go into the winter.
While we have had small amounts of rain, enough to just keep the grass growing, we have a massive soil water deficit which has been accumulating month by month since April. August having been the only month with close to average rainfall.
Yes we have had a very warm June & July with temperatures that stopped grass growth but the winter coming, without above average rainfall which usually brings higher temperatures then we are going to struggle for feed.
So all you weather experts when is it going to rain in East Sussex and Kent?
Sunday??
Jeez we had nearly 3inches last night, river in full flood past the farmAbout 9 inches of rain all year here according to local amateur online weather station. Somewhat dry to say the least.

I don't think it is going to, at least not significantly. App says 7mm at the weekend, but it said 20mm a few days agoWe now need to change this thread to ‘when will it rain in the East Midlands’
Desperately need rain here for wheat and barley drilling. Nothing will chit at the moment. It's already been too dry for the rape. Like you say forecast rain for the weekend seems to be getting less and lessI don't think it is going to, at least not significantly. App says 7mm at the weekend, but it said 20mm a few days ago
I have fields shut off for 6 weeks with less than an inch of grass growth.
