Rather bizarre title I know but bare with me , it a saying I recently heard "Surround yourself with radiators not drains "
Basically postivily not negatively

Lately it seems a thread starts and its positive then the negatively starts and it doesn't end there it's turns more petty , why ?

Is there a reason behind this ?

I used to enjoy coming on here and reading the posts , and have met some great folk through this site , but sadly now it doesn't hold the same joy or can do it used to

Perhaps it's only me !

No, not just you. But there's 2 or 3 that the forum would be better off without. OK, childish slanging matches are fun to look at for a while, but eventually get tedious.
Everyone get's it wrong now and again, decent folks admit it, and apologise, half decent folks realize they're wrong and quietly leave the topic.
Others just carry on insulting other posters to the bitter end.

It sometimes takes a helluva lot of self restraint. Having a drop or two at the end of day doesn't appear to help when the 'reply' button is begging to be pressed.

I hope I'm not one of the culprits? Apologies if I am. I must admit I'm feeling a bit flat and can't be asked at the moment and I'm sure it shows in my posts. There's a lot of uncertainty in the industry right now and this combined with poor prices and sh!t weather leaves us all in a bad mood I'm afraid.

No, not as far as I'm aware.
Not going to mention any names, but one troublemaker seems to have left anyway, after meeting his ' Waterloo ' on a competition ploughing topic.:D
Another, whilst being a leading world authority on what oil goes in the back end of a tractor, really does come across on the forum as an obnoxious prat.

there is alot to be positive about, interest rates very low, land prices just off their peak, beef price holding up, some reporting 29p for milk,
diesel still sub 50p a litre and can average profits back 5 years to save tax..
just look at the pickup or ney car threads, farmers happily paying £25000 + for a pickup of £50000+ for personal transport

I believe the immense pressure which is placed upon the farming community to keep on providing produce to such a substantially low price, plus the ongoing scaremongering over Brexit, then the additional potential misinterpretation of the written word, then you unfortunately end up with some spats as par for course.

I simply view this as something not to take personal, as it is a forum. It cannot hurt me personally - and more importantly, life is too short to be making enemies. Yes sometimes we may get our feathers ruffled or unintentionally end up ruffling someone elses feathers to the point their heckles pop up, but on the whole I believe it balances out for the better.
