Any recs for a good supplier?
£300There's quite a lot on eBay.
£300 upwards
I searched for "Trailer Dolly"
I think I read somewhere, that for highway use, it has to be welded on rather than using the catch, as using the catch it is counted as two trailers towed behind each other (therefore must be empty), where as if you "weld" the catch shut, it then becomes one trailer so fine for highway use. Even then, the fine bit I have put may not be completely correct.Got some from a Commercial breakers once….not too difficult to convert them for tractor use….depends if it is on farm use or highway use…
On farm fine..
Plod will take a dim view on the highway though..
Meant if doing a home conversion rather than a Pro job, plod may well be unimpressed.I think I read somewhere, that for highway use, it has to be welded on rather than using the catch, as using the catch it is counted as two trailers towed behind each other (therefore must be empty), where as if you "weld" the catch shut, it then becomes one trailer so fine for highway use. +1After recent experience with what he makes Phillip Watkins without a doubt should be considered. Towed a new tri axle rear steer low loader of his the other week and it's some bit of kit
Make sure to look at the geometry of it. I’m sure you know to be aware of weight transfer to the tractor to aid traction.I'm off to look at one Monday if all goes to plan.
New build, new steel, new 5th wheel.
Air bags, brakes need doing though.
Secondhand axle and wheels.
Fingers crossed, I've bought the tanker now.
