Looking at a couple of second hand drill combination.
Kuhn venta powerharrow combination on discs.
Or
Amazone powerharrow combination on discs.
Which is the better combination? And anything to look out for with either drill?

Kuhn on seedflex will put seed away where Amazon won't.
Kuhn lc is a bit light made for the seedflex but the nc is a good outfit unless you're looking at the newer vents

Not a lot wrong with a lemken on discs. Had on here for 10 years ans 3000 ha on the clock with no issues and has buried seed very well this autumn in awful conditions.

I went for an Amazone super with rotec+ . This was mainly down to the "floating" power harrow , the drill runs on the packer not the power harrow for bouncing over stones. I also prefer the Amazon for having less rotors in stony going . Have also run a lemken and was a curse , stones the amazone just swallows and passes will get kicked from one end to other if you don't stop .

I am not really a fan of the rotec + tho. I find it's a step up from Suffolk coulters but not a twin disc with press . Amazone now offer this set up but doubt you would find 2nd hand yet .

Mine is a 2012 with probably well over 6000acres on it but would need to check . Other than power harrow metal , following tines , a few bearings on depth limiter disc and a o ring in a marker , it's not been any bother so build wise they are good.

If your stony amazone has the edge imo but if not too bad , I'd probably go for one with twin disc and press wheel as a first choice.

Kuhn Vneta is what I used to use, really nice simple drill. They are well built with an excellent parrow harrow. You can have the option of seeding depth linked to the packer if needed so adjusting harrow depth doesn't alter seeding depth. Disc coulters are also worth having if you on heavier land.
