which plough and press

thinking of ploughing with a furrow press next autumn for spring sowing
our ground is very light and often have problems with maize skims and mould boards choking up
indeed after oats this autumn skims had to be removed to make a poor job
please can anyone recommend an outfit for this ground? and what sort of press would be best for easily made ground?
TIA

Roll it first if it’s that soft

Something like this.

If your ploughing in the autumn for spring drilling I'd probably go for a lemken double ring press or a hill and Osbourne land packer type press both these will leave the grown a bit more open over the winter, the flexi coil is ace to drill straight onto.

Dont rip the ground up deep and leave it loose or no matter what plough you've got it wont do a job.
Skimmers should skim not act as another set of mould boards, they'll be next door to useless if run to deep.

Some thing like this , on light land . How big a plough have you , plenty old presses at sales make scrap money , got old hill and osbourne to match 5 fur know of another dowsed well like in pic. £600

Doing a great job there, and I always wondered how good a minimat was.
Just don't want to have to manoevure around those poles - that looks like an art form in itself!
