Which tub mixer

Looking at upgrading from our current Keenan 140 to a twin tub and want to beable to feed all the milkers in one batch approx 170 cows. So think we’re looking around the 21 cube mark. Will have to be a second hand machine ideally that’s been refurbed. Any makes in particular to look at or to avoid I’ve only ever used a RS AGRI tub before and quite liked it. Our Keenan does the job currently but needs end plates and a few other small things doing to it and is now just too small

Our 18 cube gets 7t of mix and spills a bit for 135 highs. Think you’ll need to go bigger than 21 cube to make it one mix.
We’ve had various brands and all been ok. Some command a premium but gearboxes are usually all the same. RS cheaper end but good backup in our experience

I’d be looking for 24cube,RS would be top of my list, mainly because we’ve a good local lad looks after them and if you ever have a problem you can speak direct to the boss at RS.👍

I think buying a new one will be easy it’s selling your old one for anything more than scrap. For that reason I’d give Keenan a ring to see if they have a twin auger machine about new or refurbished. We bought a shelbourne Reynolds which has been great but at that time Keenan didn’t to the tub mixer so had to pretty much give our old Keenan away

21 cube is going to be tight for one mix. Our 21 cube rs we are nearly max fill twice for 267 cows
