Currently sitting in a very dry dusty situation. 38 mm total this calendar year. Cooler than normal which had helped a bit but not enough moisture in the ground for even germination. Oats and wheat drilled close to three inches. Soys and canola will be dry seeded and the wife will have to do a rain dance. Third year in a row of below average rain. Last years total was barely 100 mm including snow melt so sub soil moisture is f all. Commodities has sky rocketed on the fear that n America and Canada is facing a catastrophic drought. livestock producer are facing very tough times ahead from lack of feed and having to buy expensive grain. Canola has more than double in price since Christmas. Wheat soybeans and barley are 75% higher too. Fertilizer has seen similar price hikes. Reading a weather and crop report while drilling today it appears a majority of the N and S American regions are in need of rain. Good prices ahead if you have a crop to sell.

Can you see where its been yet , .been in tulip field today , and can walk round in sandals ,even after yesterdays 16 mm , be watering it end next week 👌
Yes, we had water laying on the ground yesterday and drains are running although some on them never stopped.

Yes it was dry here and we needed rain but I think a lot of why crops likes pale/stunted/stressed was more to do with the prolonged frosty cold spell than anything.
