why are people so stupid

Had 6motorbikes attempt an overtake while on the tractor the other day.the first 4 got past and immediately turned left at a junction a few yards in front of me.

I say 4 turned left the 3rd and 4th only made it as I was hard on the brakes, if I hadn’t done there would have been broken motorbikes, broken bones, and tomato sauce everywhere followed a short while later by the air ambulancE.

the 5th and 6th bikes realised I was too far past the junction for them to make it (I was continuing straight on not turning on or off a road and doing nothing wrong) so got level with me and had to then stop at wrong side of the road.

motorbikers as a rule I find to be switched on and onow what there doing. This lot however musta escaped from the local nut house
As an ‘older biker’ I see the loonies out for their summer thrill and see them as almost cannon fodder😪
No ill wished upon them and some of their bikes are wowers.

Personally I would make every one who wishes to drive a car ride a motorcycle or powered scooter for a year beforehand

Nothing like knowing a mistake might result in your death for sharpening observation skills
I’ve been saying that ever since I spent a year on a moped at 16. When you’re inches from death every minute you’re on the road it gives you a completely different perspective on road safety.

Those mopeds young kids have are far too slow. They should be powerful enough to keep up with the traffic, not die on the slightest hill. Let them have some more power so they aren't so vulnerable in traffic.

I met a silage trailer in a narrow lane today, the stoker made it clear he wasn’t going backwards even though he only had 40 yds to go and I had 1/4 of a mile Sat there and got his flask out, so I did the same after about 30 minutes the chopper drive rang me and asked how long before I get there to fix it explained about stoker on the tractor. I’ve never seen a pickup arrive so fast in the lane. Needless to say I didn’t back up

I say instead of mopeds put. 16 years olds with no road experience into something electric with 4 wheels and a cab, sumat with a bit more substance to it, say a 2 seater something or other, let it do 40-50mph max and it be a bit safer for them to get about

Had bikes all my working life, summer and winter , started on an fs1e flat out at an indicated 45 ! You learn to appreciate the road conditions, I back off in the truck on damp roads , it’s habit due to my biking days , new cars are all abs , traction control and whatever else , often see cars at silly speed hitting wet corners and cringe , I think they have a false sense of security

have you backed a large silage trailer 40 yards in a narrow lane, without a camera, You i guess got out to to offer to keep cars and people clear while he was backing for you

Today it was the agricultural community that served up a couple of arseholes
Both driving self propelled sprayers.
I was cycling down a single track country lane with a friend , saw sp coming so we both hopped up.on verge to keep out his way , was there a hint of thanks nope just piled on in .thanks Mr amazon driver.
2nd was a sands sp hogging middle of a narrow bumpy road. This road had good tarmac passing passing places. Twice he rode straight past them ,with oncoming traffic coming .
In fact on one occasion he pulled across next to passing place but not into it.
It's not always the public but some agri vehicles drivers are devoid of common sense, or is it I'm big get out the way.
