Why do things have to be so bloody awkward?

Got a harvester with a broken chain.

Said chain is duplex ASA 60, so equivalent to say a tsubaki 60H.

Only it’s not, instead of having double centre plates like everything else, this awkward &@&&@ has only 1 centre plate, therefore standard off the shelf replacement doesn’t fit into the sprockets as the double centre plates make it 1.5mm too thick. I can get a single short length from manufacturer, but not till tomorrow.

Why do they do this sort of shite?! 😡

First decent day we’ve had in ages and I’m missing it.

It’s same here, 2023 has been a crap year.
buy two chains an have a spare
it’s getting to point you have to carry a spare set of every thing
as missing “the day “ out weighs cost
had a grumbling bearing on taifun packer so changed all 4 front ones
and drill press wheels odd bearing , so did them all , have too much to do and have to minimise down time
anxiety is running high at minute with weather as nowt drilled yet

Got a box of generic sourced. It’s just frustrating that we have quite a bit of money tied up in spares, you think you’re well covered and some smart fecker in a design dept has decided that awkward sizes might earn them a bit more in spares down the line. Then it’s not stocked anywhere 😖
