Why don't dealers get back to you?!

I prefer to have things written down , so email , text, and now more so on WhatsApp and Facebook messanger. At least then you can look back and can't forget anything also even see when they have recieved and read the message., also gives everyone a chance to get the answer to the question and reply when convenient.
Did a deal on a twin rotor rake last year after seeing it advertised on FB with a dealer we've never uses before pretty much all done via texts.
Bought a tractor from other side of the country last year too all via WhatsApp with instant pictures and videos all done without even seeing the tractor in person.

That one that sells linkages on here is useless to get hold of. Can only imagine what he'd be like if something was wrong after purchasing if he can't even bother to get In touch to sell... ??‍♂️

I'm afraid recently in the past 3 or 4 months i have been guilty of missing loads of calls, messages etc This is quite simply down to being too busy to take every call! and there were several days were i had so many missed calls and messages to deal with i didnt even know were to start! i trawled though a lot of them as soon as i could but i know full well i didnt follow them all up as many just got lost in the phone as they got bumped down the list as new calls and messages come in.

I run a glamping site and there was a week last year the phone just went crazy. One day between the calls I answered I still had 37 missed calls and probably similar number of emails. I tried to deal with each individually, they were all the same questions, price, availability, whats provided. Ended up making a generic text saying we are experiencing a high volume of calls and messages. Please check out our social media and website for updates, prices and latest availability......still didnt work.

Phoned the quad bike dealer Tuesday afternoon at three for a price on two brands of quad. Did the deal within ten minutes and collected new quad the day after, yesterday, at 9am.
That's the way to do it chaps! No time wasting by either side. Job done and back to the cows.
Should be on the silage, but it doesn't seem to want to stop raining. My grass is all cut since Sunday.

Selling machinery on farm must be the pits.

It's bad enough going from place to place when everyone is moaning the world is against them. Then when you actually get the opportunity to quote they nearly collapse when you talk actual money. Time they have had a sit down and cup of tea to recuperate themselves, worked out actually, they can get Micky down the road to weld up the existing machine a bit and keep it going another 12 months to stave off the need for a replacement it's become a fool's errand.

Used machinery must be even worse. I'd hate having it sat in the yard in front of me. Tidy and well looked after, clean examples, fine, they sell themselves. But that trade from who-jama-flips farm, cripes get it on a boat to Africa quick.

I find this rather strange. I ordered a part for my Claas Mega combine at 4.30pm and the part arrived the next morning at 10am. I've had Claas combines for many years and I have always been delighted with their spare parts availability. Not so chuffed at some of the prices though!

It (the poor experience) might have been back in late March when they were moving their parts stores into a new building? It was a massive undertaking.

The weather forecast has been predicting four or five fine days this week since Saturday. Every day it gets pushed back a day with another wet day being added before we get there. It's pure :poop:. You would think that in 2020 they would be a bit more accurate than they were in the 1960's, but obviously not.

Do some of you guys not build up a relationship with any salesmen?

If we want something or are even thinking about something now, we can text, WhatsApp, ring our man at Lloyd’s, usualy get an instant response or a demo out in a day or 2.

If we like, we either pop in, or he will pop out and get to the arm twisting stage :)

Gets to the stage you won’t go elsewhere as the deals are so straightforward. Even if you demo and don’t buy there’s no hard feelings. Usually a demo ends up in a sale though. Rather than approach a new dealership and they don’t know you from Adam.
There will be a lot of guys out there just want a toy to try for a week when they are flat out and never set foot in the dealers again.

Did that once with a Batemen sprayer, rang JH up, he gave me a price, thought about it for 1/2 hour and rang him back and did the deal.
Bought a tractor last month, phone call Tuesday, went to see it Wednesday, bought it Thursday, don't believe in dick'in about and wasting mine or other people's time.

With all due respect it sounds like you're operating in a different world and budget to most on here

I found Lloyd’s feckin useless recently.

I rang them asking about what used tractors they had in. Gave them a fairly open idea about what I was after and a rough budget and said tell me what you got. Knowing full well they had several pages of tractors on there website. Rep came back with details on one tractor that wasn’t even on the list of models I was after. Never heard anymore from them so went and spent on one from another dealer that was a bit keener to do business.
