Last one I had didn’t last very long![emoji848]
What are you using it for?

We had a new strautmann mixer wagon and it was supplied with the wrong spec pto shaft. Must have broken 4 or 5 before they finally supplied a correct one. Had it 5 years now and been no problem.

I can price you one up if you tell me what you need each end, what machine it is and what the old one was. They don’t need to be silly money if you get them from someone who will do some research instead of getting them from a Machine manufacturer.

Vapromatic have a good range, and the quality is good. Benzi brand,Italian,
People need to remember that there is a wide range of sizes of shafts, and the power rating is usually determined by the size of the uj.

Bondoli&Pavesi always seem ok
I’ve allways found their guards crap, or more to the point not easy to take apart and put back together to grease properly. No problem with the shaft itself.

I’d much rather pull a guard off to grease than poke through a little hole and hope for the best.

Which begs the question why do they put grease nipples on the inside of UJ’s, they’re much easier to get at on the outside or in one of the end caps.

On all my bondioli pto’s the nipples are in the bearing cups. As Chae1 says Weasler are great quality but I have had quite a few blow up and would say that bondioli is as good, definitely a better quality guard.

For Bunning muck spreaders. Ok atm but one is starting to show its age. Trying to get ahead of the game and getting one in stock. As said the best thing about the Bondioli ones is the grease nipple in the bearing caps. Is this the same on the W/A joints?? Can’t fault the comer shafts themselves, it’s more the guards. Don’t last two minutes. They are hire machines and coupling to all different tractors tends to be a problem. Chain too tight it pulls guard onto the yolks. Too slack it squeezes the guard onto them. Need to be more idiot proof. Cost me a small fortune. Shaft are the squared star type. W/a one end. M10 shear bolt the other. Both 6 spline.

i kept a close eye on ebay until i picked a couple up in good nick that were suitable. replaced the tube going to them and a new guard and the one we use has been fine for a while now.
I must admit its only on the slurry tanker and is over rated for its use, but it was fairly cheap all things considered

On Thursday 26th September, we’re holding a webinar for farmers to go through the guidance, actions and detail for the expanded Sustainable Farming Incentive (SFI) offer. This was planned for end of May, but had to be delayed due to the general election. We apologise about that.

Farming and Countryside Programme Director, Janet Hughes will be joined by policy leads working on SFI, and colleagues from the Rural Payment Agency and Catchment Sensitive Farming.
