We are currently building new cubicle housing for 100 cows and are at a crossroads with regards to scraping out.
My dad wants to install a lely/jos slurry collector
I would prefer to install Storth rope scrapers
My brother would prefer to scrape the building out with the machine.
Any thoughts?
wanting to start home mix ration
what is requried as far as red tractor is concerned
and what about cross compliance in case of inspection???
please help?
Looking at upgrading from our current Keenan 140 to a twin tub and want to beable to feed all the milkers in one batch approx 170 cows. So think we’re looking around the 21 cube mark. Will have to be a second hand machine ideally that’s been refurbed. Any makes in particular to look at or to...
Considering going to spring claving instead of all year. Any idea how many years this would take to achieve? How do people get them all incalf by a certain date?
Evening all,
Anyone got any ideas of how to weigh a bulk builder's bag, with up to 1t in it? Would be handy to have something that it would sit on, but don't mind picking it up to weigh it if needed.
Looking for the cheapest way!
TIA (y)
Hi. Dry cows are short of protein. Had the same issue last yr and had colostrum issues for a while. Feed rep is suggesting we need at least 2 kgs of dry cow rolls &£473 a ton. Is the best solution? Through management calving issues aren’t a big issue here.
Does anyone know whether having copious amounts of lead shot lying around is harmful to worms? I've eaten plenty of shot embedded in game and vermin in my time, but my guts are rather less abrasive than a worm's. Just pondering this as I wandered over our pastures this pm, in places the...
Ok not sure if this is possible or not but if it is someone on here will hopefully know how.
I have a triolet mixer wagon used it on cows for years starting to use it on sheep program everything on my laptop and send it over wifi to the digi-star weigh head. My question is I mix a base ration...
We bought a piece of ex-demo machinery 12 months ago off a dealer we do a fair bit of business with and after realising we aren't getting the use out of it we thought we would and looking to put funds elsewhere in the business now so I asked our rep if they'd want to buy it back at what ever he...
We’ve got a few very old and rough/pitted shed and indoor silage clamp floors. Ideally want a power float finish for future uses.
What thickness of c40 concrete should we use to pour over the existing slab? Can’t go the full 6inch as it would cock the levels up too much.
Thanks
Looking at buying a telehawk as we only have one tractor and it’s sits on the mixer wagon. Fed up changing over every day !
anyone had one of these for a while?
Hello there
I’m thinking of upgrading an welger rp12 which we have had since 1986 ! It has served us well and apart from the odd fart 💨 been pretty faultless and simple. Ideally I’m after something reliable, not loaded with science fiction and easy to repair efficient .
I was thinking of a...
If you had a blank canvas and you wanted to put up a shed or possibly two for holding 200-240 beef head what designs would people think off.
We are thinking locking yokes, 18ft scrap passage, concrete panels dividing scrape passage off straw yards.
Interest in how you access the straw yards to...
