Scraping out… Robotics, automatic scrapers or tractors?

We are currently building new cubicle housing for 100 cows and are at a crossroads with regards to scraping out. My dad wants to install a lely/jos slurry collector I would prefer to install Storth rope scrapers My brother would prefer to scrape the building out with the machine. Any thoughts?

    Weighing a bulk bag

Evening all, Anyone got any ideas of how to weigh a bulk builder's bag, with up to 1t in it? Would be handy to have something that it would sit on, but don't mind picking it up to weigh it if needed. Looking for the cheapest way! TIA (y)

    Dry cow protein

Hi. Dry cows are short of protein. Had the same issue last yr and had colostrum issues for a while. Feed rep is suggesting we need at least 2 kgs of dry cow rolls &£473 a ton. Is the best solution? Through management calving issues aren’t a big issue here.

    Worms and lead shot

Does anyone know whether having copious amounts of lead shot lying around is harmful to worms? I've eaten plenty of shot embedded in game and vermin in my time, but my guts are rather less abrasive than a worm's. Just pondering this as I wandered over our pastures this pm, in places the...

We bought a piece of ex-demo machinery 12 months ago off a dealer we do a fair bit of business with and after realising we aren't getting the use out of it we thought we would and looking to put funds elsewhere in the business now so I asked our rep if they'd want to buy it back at what ever he...

    Concrete over concrete thickness

We’ve got a few very old and rough/pitted shed and indoor silage clamp floors. Ideally want a power float finish for future uses. What thickness of c40 concrete should we use to pour over the existing slab? Can’t go the full 6inch as it would cock the levels up too much. Thanks
