Well they don’t seem to keen of getting back together. Stalin didn’t think much of them because he starved them. They were pretty pleased to see the Germans because of that though that didn’t end well. It’s a bit like Scotland getting independence then a few years down the line Boris starts lining the tanks along Hadrians Wall having already taken Berwick on Tweed a few years earlier.
No need for Boris to take Berwick upon Tweed, Richard III conquered it and it's been in England for the last 500 years :ROFLMAO:

I actually got an A in A level Geography and an A in O level history it just shows how rubbish the English education system is. For Berwick substitute somewhere just in Scotland. I’ve never been north of Sedburgh again the words of the KLF ‘it’s grim up north’.

What changed your mind? You were ready to jump in the Datsun and drive to Kiev to fight to the death in the middle of the week.
Reality.
Can’t see any point in fighting a battle we’d at best lose, at worst escalate the conflict way beyond Ukraine.
And not absolutely sure the pro Western contingent in Ukraine is squeaky ckean either.
If they hold the Russians off with our assistance in an auxiliary capacity then I’ll be very pleased for them. Good outcome. But there’s no way we should get directly involved. It’s a powder keg.

Well they retired to Jura to burn their cash! Was a grim day that day in '94. I saw the irony of the location. Been pointless in London - burning cash there wouldn't have meant anything. Threads a bit to serious for KLF track!

Us now saying it has Intel that says troops have been given the order to invade ukraine. At the same time russian ambassador to the US states that Russia has no intention of invading at all. On top of that macron and putin agree on a meeting to discuss a ceasefire. Somebody is lying, but who?
All of them most likely.

I was confused by the fact that Berwick Rangers played in the Scottish league even though they're English.

London to my mind holds the key ,the threat of confiscating all Russian owned properties and monies held in this country would be a very strong deterrent to Putin as a lot of his colleagues will have serious amounts of money and property in this country. Is there the political will to do it though as it would have a detrimental effect on Boris’s pals in the city.
Putin's yacht left a German dockyard halfway through her refit.

The Ukrainians didn’t have a good time of it in the thirties under the Russians. They didn’t have a good time of it under the Germans in the forties . They didn’t have a good time of it when the Russians came back in the forties, fifties ,sixties, seventies and eighties. It probably won’t be good if they allow the Russians back. Putin wants to be given the Ukraine he doesn’t want to fight for it once you’ve given him the Ukraine, well why not give him Finland or Latvia or Sweden or some nice fjords in Norway. Once we were all frightened of Russia but it was bigger then and had lots of friends ( maybe not friends) like Poland and Hungary and Czechoslovakia etc now it doesn’t. But if we allow the annexation of the Ukraine we’ll where’s it going to stop.
When you flying in to be sacrificed?

There was a really interesting interview today on CNN, between Fareed Zakaria and Condaleezza Rice.
Putin and Bush #1 and #2 made ground , understood each other.. It started to fall apart under Obama.
Edit. She talks about the Minsk and Budapest agreements.

I am expecting to be called up due to my military experience. Staff Sergeant in the CCF . I have the ability to dismantle a 303 in no time flat and my hands are registered as deadly weapons plus when I say we it's a collective noun meaning we as Europeans ( not the Union ) should believe that in 2021 all nations and people have a right to self determination and should not be afraid of foreign powers taking that away. Whilst there's a lot of posturing and misinformation going around if Russia were to go into Ukraine that's wrong and hiding away from that fact allows it to get worse. If it comes to conflict they'll be no winners but if you back away from the idea of conflict it can easily find you in the end. The truth is NATO won't be invading Russia anytime soon but hopefully the idea of it standing up to Russia will mean Russia won't be invading anywhere else soon either. As for flying in to be sacrificed the only one I know who did that was Edward Woodward in the 'Wicca Man' .

We do know about the enhanced interrogation techniques used in the so-called war on terror where people were essentially tortured without due legal processes. So bad things happen on all sides.
Yes, that is a sad and unpleasant truth. But it's only just to recognise the difference between a minority of operatives often exceeding their authority, and a blanket policy operated across an entire arm of service.
