Just read tell that McD are closing all their outlets in Russia; saves us organising a worldwide boycott.
It would take the whole world’s fleet of LPG tankers, full time, to replace the gas that Germany alone currently imports through the existing pipeline from Russia.Yes I heard the US are bringing Venezuela back into the fold which will help the oil supply but not the price.
Europe would survive the summer with no russian gas but next winter would see it crucified. I can't see a way where LPG in ships could come close to solving this. Unless there's a pipeline I don't know about. ( Which is entirely possible)

Think there is one up through italy that is increasing capacity. It won't help a lot probably, but it might help a bit.Yes I heard the US are bringing Venezuela back into the fold which will help the oil supply but not the price.

40% of all gas consumed in Europe comes from Russia. So yes, the volume and cost [that’s ‘income’ to Russia] is massive. The cost of it being shut off would be multiples of massive to Europe in the short to medium term and that’s without considering another massive volume of coal sent to Germany.2 billion a day the EU send to Russia
That's what Farage has just said40% of all gas consumed in Europe comes from Russia. So yes, the volume and cost [that’s ‘income’ to Russia] is massive. Germany in particular neglected one of its primary responsibilities, which is to secure its energy supply. This whole situation, including Putin’s confidence to invade Ukraine, is down to Agela Merkle’s German government pandering to their Green Party and shutting down their nuclear generating capacity, which paradoxically but entirely predictably also results in their almost total dependancy on fossil fuels.
What's the magic solution then?It would take the whole world’s fleet of LPG tankers, full time, to replace the gas that Germany alone currently imports through the existing pipeline from Russia.
Hell! I hate being in agreement with that man. That's what Farage has just said
Did you watch Trumps video ? he got it bob onHell! I hate being in agreement with that man.
There is no magic solution. It is an OMNISHAMBLES of Putin’s making. The ideal solution would be for Putin to be done away with and someone more sensible and moderate take over the running of Russia, but I doubt whether that will happen. Putin has made a massive mistake in making war with Ukraine and he will never be able to hold it peacefully. The Ukrainians, despite their political differences, were basically quite friendly with Russia until Russia invaded Crimea and the two Eastern regions. Russians are now hated by Ukranians and this hatred and distrust will last for generations into the future. What's the magic solution then?
Think the gas situation in Europe will have been sorted yesterday and it does not involve Russia.
Should have made clear I was referring to renewablejohn , as I can't see how Mark Rutte and Trudeau are going to magic up the gas into Europe's homes? There is no magic solution. The EU have poked Putin for 20 years ,There is no magic solution. It is an OMNISHAMBLES of Putin’s making. Probably the only thing that placated him ,Frigging annoying having to keep banking those cheques
Find myself ageeing with people I usually disagree with, and disagreeing with folk that I usually agree with. Funny old world, I just hope that the nations that have worked so well together supporting ukraine can support each other to weather the storm.Hell! I hate being in agreement with that man.
That is part of the EU plan to reduce Russian usage by 2/3Should start a social media campaign that everyone turns down their heating. By sacrificing a bit of warmth we are costing putin money
Watching TV and someone was turning the heating control DOWN to 20*! The interesting bit , to me, was it showed above in £ how much it was costing a month to have it set at that. So why don't they turn the temperature down to what they can afford? That is part of the EU plan to reduce Russian usage by 2/3
