Is this thread still on going?

Keep reseeding using DD, save the money. Then come back in 4-5 years and tell me how long your leys lasted. Yeah, the 2 goes with round up thing. That's right out of the British Seed Houses consultant handbook. Used to hear it time and time again.

You can't beat rotations and a half decent break crop.
That's 3 year ley ,if it's lasts 5 I will be more than happy [emoji16]

however it was drilled, it's certainly a good take, and that's all that really matters, horses for courses.
Duration of leys is going to become more relevant, for our milk contract, % of permanent pasture is a big plus, as is dd or min-til, another stick to beat us with, but quite plausible, if you look at it from a diesel usage point of view, we all have to realise, our opinions don't mean a lot, our customers requirements do, they pay the paltry income we receive.

with my system i get perfect seed contact every time, its called making a seedbed ,its why people do it ,well people with patience anyway and those without that patience are perhaps in the wrong job maybe....
I'm looking for the perfect system that does not involve that , we've been here before , but the advantages far outweigh and disadvantages

it looks good now but it has been sprayed twice and no clover now so how can that save fuel ?
clover saves on fossil fuel use...... free N form the atmoss fear, wow.o_O

That was obviously not a good way to establish it nor will it be now, way too much competition I'm afraid, what a pity, the opportunity was lost. still its all a learning experience and he can always have another go in 3 yrs time (y)🙄

Clover Overseeds easy after I got rid of the docks
Shouldve got rid of them first.

and then a better way round would be establish a lot clover first then add a bit of grass.
Its a common mistake people make in that they see clover in the sward and think it s more than it actually is , over-estimate the amount.

I want my grazing swards full of it with it not just a token amount .
Same goes for chicory but thats even harder to establish in a half cocked way.
