Winter clothes

After getting wet through three times yesterday and twice already today I think it's time to invest in some proper wet weather gear.
Looking at Kiwi Kit website, too much choice. Can anyone advise Kiawaca bib and brace or normal leggings, winter jacket or parka.
Also choice between Stormey Creek and Kiawaca.
Would appreciate advice from anyone who has used them.

Betacraft is identical to kawiawa stuff for less than half the money.
I have a betacraft bib and brace, and it's great and I've had it in amongst wet soapy sheep and that to me is as good a test as you get

Cant comment on the brand you are looking at but for me it’s bib and brace over leggings every time. No more leggings slipping down 👍
I have Guy Cotten bid and brace which is fantastic and very hard wearing and wear a Betacraft coat on top which is lightweight and has excellent waterproof abilities.

Kaiwaka bib & brace is superb, if a bit too warm when/if the sun's out. It is available from other suppliers now too, so a bit of competition reflecting prices elsewhere (at last). Betacraft is similar, if not the same, but cheaper. I have had a set of kaiwaka bib & brace leggings for 4 winters, and bought a Betacraft coat last year after trying both brands on at Charlie's in Welshpool.

I wear Oringi 'normal' leggings (from Kiwikit) for everyday use, before it gets cold. They are the same material as Flexothane I think, but seams are welded so they don't come apart in a couple of weeks. Usually last most of the year before I have enough puncture holes and rips in them to discard.

Cheap hi vis orange or yellow off Amazon or eBay. Might just save your life and much cheaper. I’m Going to make it mandatory for our team this winter. AI man here at 5am in dark green. He’s basically invisible.

For those who wear Kiawaca or Betacraft, I am 5ft 11, 13 1/2 stone 36 waist and 42 chest ( without too many layers) What size would you suggest I need?
Maybe a size lower on betacraft.
I have had Kaiwaka trousers for about 5 winters and they have been patched up too many times. I’m a medium. Last winter I bought some Betacraft ones and they are a small and still too big. These are trousers not bib and brace so might be different with those. I’m same size as you but 34 waist.

Are they the Agtex bib and braces on the kiwi kit web site or the stormforce ones @neilo

I got the Stormforce ones. I'm not sure if the others were even available back then. :scratchhead: Serious money compared to the disposable Flexothane ones I used to buy, but practically indestructible and very warm & dry in the middle of a root field in the winter. (y)

I can't remember being that light, but not a million miles out on the measurements still. I always wear a fleece under a pair of overalls for warmth, and my Kaiwaka Bib & Brace is an XL iirc. I don't think I'd want any smaller on my legs in order to be 'flexible and athletic' during lambing.

Got these for nightly excursions with a rifle and absolutely brilliant wouldn’t need chucking in a bin after the first climb over a barbed wir

I am interested to hear more about these. What I am looking for is a pair of trousers that I can leave the house in if I know it is going to be a day of rain. It's a faff taking your boots on and off to don the oil skins
