At what rate do should I sow winter oats & vetch?

We offer a 50/50 mix and recommend a seed rate of 10kg/acre.

We are going at 15kg/ha oats and 7.5kg/ha vetch

Uhmmm, was thinking 100kgs/ha winter oats and 3.5kg/ha vetch. Might be over doing the oats.

Is vetch expensive? Got some leftover oats to go for spring grazing been wondering about some vetch to go with it. Only 4 acres so might not be worth the bother

Surely it’s definitely worth the bother, you’ll learn something either way, and if it does turn out to be too expensive you haven’t lost loads

Depends what you are trying to achieve, a cover crop til spring or forage next year?

Get the correct Vetch, common Vetch is not frost Tolerant.
