is it a manuel disco. how long does it take to do that, I never would have thought mine would be so simple to take apart, only thought defenders looked as simple as that.

yip manual 4-5 hrs to take the body off, fine an easy to do as easy as a defender its had nearly two weeks of cleaning and painting 3 coats then dynawax waiting on a few bits to come probably be another coulpe of weeks before its back together

What condition was the chassis in? Just flaking loose paint?
i took a whole crystalix tub of rust just off the chassis, 2 days on the needle gun chassis an under body, was braw rough on top where you canna usualy see in aboot all the wiring an pipes ect,ect. I had to put 2 patches on the chassis and 2 on the body i will get photos posted up later on

Wow,

That surprises me some what. I thought there would be flaking paint and surface rust but nothing more. Would be interested to see some images. Looks well so far.

I never looked, just never thought it would be as easy to take apart. really want a 110 crewcab pickup after the disco, 300tdi-not to be fussy like. I cant work at cars or stuff but liked helping a friend out on his defender, not into the electric crap, and no room that a lot of cars/jeeps have got now.

it will be a great job when u have finished, I do like mine just cant see me going to that bother or paying someone to do it, could u imagine the bill

We find Fiberglass resin good on the welds to completely seal them from moisture. Or a bit of Isopon P40 on your finger. Dog doesn't seem to bothered .............
