Has anyone worn out their rain gauge?

Naa ------just drilled a hole in the bottom of mine,saving myself lot of time, I know its to wet to do anything now!

replaced ours with a bucket, only have to empty it once a week now!

Just spent an hour or so with the aid of ahdb planting survey and my own eyes travelling around the country and speaking to other farmers this last month, Reckon the agronomists who they contact for their info are living in a different country. They seem even more optimistic about what will be planted or rather worth planting or taking to harvest to help their chem sales than us on here who are living in hope which is receding by the day of that elusive dry spell

No but I had to replace the batterys. All working fine now the forecast is for some dry weather!!!!

About a week of no rain and we will be able to make a start. 60 acres out of 1000 acres of wheat across two farms only in so far.

Not bad for a plough and power harrow! Admittedly, first time it's been ploughed in 15 years!

Looking good there ... seems if you've managed to get it in, it's going away steady ..
Not so easy for the chaps with underwater fields though !!

Exactly right. Driving round today the car thermometer was reading 13'C! It's no wonder things are greening up quickly.

Better conditions here this last couple of days than it was mid December, just begins to feel the job is on the turn, on a nice day..
