Workshop job a bit out of the ordinary.

Since selling the farm I have time to do some of the things that have been neglected and have a workshop on the new property. One of the best red deer stags I bred produced some nice antlers but being in a farmed situation it is not safe for them or for me for the antlers to be left on so we saw them off as soon as they have cleaned off the velvet. I had 5 sets from the same stag from 3 years old to 7 years old and needed to find a way of mounting them that left them in their original shape/orientation.

First I set them up on bits of wood on the floor until they looked right then made up a plate with a pedestal and wings to which I could bolt the antlers. It was all very fiddly especially putting bolts/screws through from the back of the wings on my own; trying to hold the antler and the steelwork while lining up 4 screws.
Anyway finally got them done and happy with the result. I am now wondering if they would look OK all 5 mounted on a vertical pole.
