To me, the downside is that it had a new engine. If the engine had gone past 60,000, it is highly likely not going to split its crank, which is why some need a new engine.
If they are going to go, it is usually before they have done 60,000.
The engine in that vehicle is only half way there.

It would be bad luck for the same vehicle to have 2 bad engines fitted

I recently sold my 4 cylinder 2017 Disco 5.
Sold it to a distant specialist car dealer.
He was being critical of the engine. I said this one had been faultless and if they were bad why was he buying it?
He said he sells them with a purchased warranty so if the engine fails it will be covered for most eventualities. Interesting solution.
We had problems with Disco 4 engines but nothing serious.
No idea if new D300 6 cylinder in Disco 5 will be reliable but it is a force of nature.

The early four cylinder Ingenium engines had issues with timing chains or their guide rails. I don’t think they suffer catastrophic damage so not like V6.

All the 4cyl ingeniums are bad news. Emissions faults, timing chains, bottom end bearings, and the best ever - the plastic balancer shaft bearings !!

What era would these be? From, to?
From the very first to when they ceased fitting the four cylinder to UK Defender and Disco5. In the transverse applications they were/are a pain for extra reasons and that lasted until all models had a mid cycle refresh that included a modified engine bulkhead to its body.
Buyer beware with JLR products, because JLR will seldom take responsibility for their fück-ups.
