Wynnstay Fertiliser Update February 2021

Fertiliser prices have increased significantly since the beginning of 2021, particularly for Nitrogen and DAP/TSP, and this upward trend appears to be continuing into spring.

The increase in prices has primarily been driven by increased planting, especially compared to the problems experienced in autumn 2019, resulting in strong demand for product. This has been compounded by some supply issues due to production issues at several sites, including French and Turkish suppliers who have called force majeure on contracts throughout Europe.

As always, we emphasise the importance of soil sampling to understand deficits in your soil and establish your individual requirements.

We strongly advise farmers to get their orders placed as soon as possible and take delivery when available, to ensure they have product on farm for spring application.
