Smoking

Good work.
I've been quit for a month and it seems to be easier in the summer with lots to do.

Sitting in front of a log burner... I wondered how you were going! (y)

I have a very nice young lady as a quit smoking support person which has really helped.

Are you hallucinating due to the lack of nicotine
:ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO:
On that subject....
I don't normally dream / remember dreaming, but shite those nicotine patches make for creative sleeping
I dreamt I was being chased by a bear FFS :ROFLMAO:

Now you mention it, it may have been @skinnyhoskins coming to me in a vision....:woot::woot:

I wonder if he dreamt about chasing an alien looking creature on the same day...:playful:

I took the tablets via the NHS. They worked for me along with plenty of will power. I wanted to give up which made a big difference.

I used the money I didn’t spend on cigarettes to buy something either weekly, monthly or yearly. Got some new clothes, SKY TV, a PlayStation 3, some new CDs. Sort of a reward scheme for myself.

It all worked, 5 years now. Best of luck, it’s not easy that’s for sure.

You are so right you will only quit when you want to, 4 years ago I was on 60+ a day and one Thursday in October I decided I was going to quit on the following Monday and did.On the Monday I went to bed at 17.00hrs as I had never managed to smoke while asleep, and apparently was not that easy to live with for a couple of weeks, but "Best days work I have ever done"

I wanted to stop and on Christmas Day just past I decided that was the day. 15 days now and I feel so much better, don't feel bunged up like I did. First thing in the morning is probably the hardest for myself but I get out the door and straight into work and usually it's fine then. How're you doing Hollywell & Kiwi Pete?

Still smoke free at this end (y)

Thanks for the reminder about the thread...

Had a few lads around over the festive season quite keen to see if they could tempt me into smoking but I didn't, quite happy to sit in a smoky workshop with them and not be biting all my fingernails to the quick.

So hopefully I'm now in "ex-smoking", thanks to giving up at the right time this time around

Last few attempts I realise I liked the idea of giving it away but wasn't ready to.

This time I realised it was time, have finally managed to put on 2 kg, which is the first weight I've put on in 24 years of trying!

Really appreciate the extra sense of taste now, apparently we replace our tastebuds every 10 days (a useless fact) but even potato is exciting now :D

Glad to hear you're still going strong and not giving in! I've also noticed taste is a lot better and you appreciate it more.
How long have you been off them now?
