Are you still off the butts @holywell farmer
Yes just aboutAre you still off the butts @holywell farmer
Oh helloGood work.
I've been quit for a month and it seems to be easier in the summer with lots to do.
Sitting in front of a log burner... I wondered how you were going!
I have a very nice young lady as a quit smoking support person which has really helped.
Hi!!Oh hello
Are you "foxy"?Never called a bit on the side a "quit smoking support person"
Are you hallucinating due to the lack of nicotineAre you "foxy"?

You are so right you will only quit when you want to, 4 years ago I was on 60+ a day and one Thursday in October I decided I was going to quit on the following Monday and did.On the Monday I went to bed at 17.00hrs as I had never managed to smoke while asleep, and apparently was not that easy to live with for a couple of weeks, but "Best days work I have ever done"I took the tablets via the NHS. They worked for me along with plenty of will power. I wanted to give up which made a big difference.
I used the money I didn’t spend on cigarettes to buy something either weekly, monthly or yearly. Got some new clothes, SKY TV, a PlayStation 3, some new CDs. Sort of a reward scheme for myself.
It all worked, 5 years now. Best of luck, it’s not easy that’s for sure.

You must of had one permanently in your mouth
Cigar or Cafe Creme with the evening brandy?I did! it took years of practice..
Goodon you ,stick witn it ,its tough ,but your tougherI m on Champix again probably 7, 8 time in 2 years
I v never gone more than a week and although the pills considerably reduced the amount of ciggies I smoked, I never actually quit I just stopped taking the pills
So now 3 days in I m determined to do it,
Wish me luck
Still smoke free at this endI wanted to stop and on Christmas Day just past I decided that was the day. 15 days now and I feel so much better, don't feel bunged up like I did. First thing in the morning is probably the hardest for myself but I get out the door and straight into work and usually it's fine then. How're you doing Hollywell & Kiwi Pete?
Still smoke free at this end
Thanks for the reminder about the thread...
Had a few lads around over the festive season quite keen to see if they could tempt me into smoking but I didn't, quite happy to sit in a smoky workshop with them and not be biting all my fingernails to the quick.
So hopefully I'm now in "ex-smoking", thanks to giving up at the right time this time around
Last few attempts I realise I liked the idea of giving it away but wasn't ready to.
This time I realised it was time, have finally managed to put on 2 kg, which is the first weight I've put on in 24 years of trying!
Really appreciate the extra sense of taste now, apparently we replace our tastebuds every 10 days (a useless fact) but even potato is exciting now
