My builder guy is already on the job. The haulage up here kills the precast cubicesI think youd be better makeing a metal shutter 3mm plate and box section, come out better imo and last lot longer.

I did wonder, I can't remember where they came from TBO most likely a sale, Probably best to put them back in oneDon't do it they are rubbish. We've cut loads of cows out of them over the years, run steers in one lot but they have broken most of them now so they are coming out.
We have mostly old iae ones I think which are just a single loop bolted to a hinged bit on the wall with a headrail. Nothing going down to the floor so they never get stuck in them.
The cows break the headrail clamps quite often but I just go through them once a year and replace anything broken. Coupd do with some heavier duty clamps like they use on the newer cubicles really
I may end up trying this, can I ask how deep the lying area is from the step to the wall and how many cows you can sensibly keep in there like that in comparison to one cow per 4 foot cubical
I am not sure yet if im going to go for the moveable 1s. He is also pricing up to fit permanent cubicles in our new bedded court. I never concreted the bedded area in it so hopefully it will be easy to kit it out.Get us some pics when you get some made ! please.
Thinking of doing similar for my autumn calvers......................... one day.I am not sure yet if im going to go for the moveable 1s. He is also pricing up to fit permanent cubicles in our new bedded court. I never concreted the bedded area in it so hopefully it will be easy to kit it out.

Heres his first prototype. Hes made a good job i think. I cant remember his reason for putting the hoop in the middle. He has to make a half panel for the start/end of the runGet us some pics when you get some made ! please.
Looks excellent , I've always thought the hoop in the middle wil be much stronger , and if you put rubber Matt on cow won't know she's lying on a joint.Heres his first prototype. This for another farmer. I havent bit the bullet and ordered any yet. Dont know cost either. But i think hes made a really good atempt at them.Tidy job.
What sizes have you gone for in the end ?
He says there is an inch difference between back and front. Is that enough?Bad to tll from the photo @Dave6170 but there dosent look enough slope on the cubicle bed compared to the ones ive seen in the past
Sit them up on a 3" timber purlin at front. The ones we used to have were done that way, stops them rocking on an uneven floor as well.He says there is an inch difference between back and front. Is that enough?
Mine have more than that. I'll try and measure if I get chanceHe says there is an inch difference between back and front. Is that enough?

Chap near us, Simon Frost he was a farmers weekly moniter farm a few yrs ago, had cubicles with rubber mats on the floor for LimX sucklers. I visited whilst at uni (so about 8-10yrs ago) and it looked a tidy set up. Would need to be religiously scrapped out every day though, whereas with a heelstone it wouldn't matter as much if you missed the odd day. Not sure if he still has the same set up now.Bringing this up again. Would this work?
attach cubicle hoops the the shed wall and not make a raised bed? Maybe just rubber flat on the floor or even make a heel out of a timber purlin and fill the bed with sand.
