What’s New in TFF Version 2

I have a 13" Macbook at home. Checking the screenshot on here, the text box is 6,6" of a 12" wide screenshot

On my 19" LG screen at work here, the text is 12" of 19"

Another vote for too narrow. The avatars are much bigger and the text is much narrower on my PC. Is there an option to get rid of that box on the right hand side ? or go back to the old version ? Could be worse I suppose, I'm not getting adverts, but I much preferred the old version.
Sorry Clive

widths mentioned haven't changed - seems a common perception they have though

Is anyone going to answer my question as to why all threads you post on are automatically watched now, and you can't stop it, as you could before?

That was the same as in the previous system. You can press the unpatch button at the top of each thread. I’ll also check the alert preferences in profiles. So should only send alerts now if you have the options ticked.

Both of mine are on Opera . I couldn't amend the layout via the paint brush icon. I'm guessing the formatting adjust the text box only for narrower screens?

One of the the biggest challenges with this upgrade is the shear number of devices and screen sizes that are used today - its very difficult to make it so it suits every device on every size, the tablet and phone views are different all and even they vary depending what size tablet or phon e user is on

fixing for one device will mess it up for another etc. we tested on as many different sizes and devices as possible but it wont be perfect on all

it would be useful if anyone who has issues could post screen grab and state browser and device / screen size

Because by the time you've posted a comment, and refreshed and remembered to click on the 'Unwatch' button on a popular thread (like this one) you'll already have a raft of notification emails clogging up your email inbox. I had 11 from this thread alone earlier, in about 2 minutes between posting and Unwatching. You used to be able to click a box before posting a comment that meant you didn't get any notification from that thread at all. There doesn't seem to be anything in Preferences either to disable the auto Watch function.

That was only when you started a thread. There was no option on posts.

If you click on your profile icon at the top - check what content preferences you have ticked to auto-watch content you interact with:

Thats not correct. When you posted on a thread for the first time (not one you started) there was an option box to untick to stop any email alerts from that thread, so you stopped the problem before it started. Do you people not know how your own system used to work?

There's no difference to the width of any section or box or strip compared to the old forum on either my Mac or iPad. The only issue I have had is with getting the home page up to start with, but that seems to be either in the process of being resolved or it may be resolving itself.
Well all the widths have changed on my ipad. What am I doing wrong? I clicked on the change width button at the bottom, which removed the border and increased the actual post column by about one word, so a smidgeon better, but still looks awful.

I'm looking at the test version of the old system right now and you didn't on the first reply to a thread - I've just checked, only get that option when you started a thread not when you reply to it.

That will come with push notifications - we haven't turned them on yet as requires another install on the server.

However the menu bar sticks at the top now so the alerts are always in view.
Is there any way to get rid of the menu bar? Not all users have giant size screens and only about half of mine is actually useable to read posts with. Especially with the sidebar having gone on steroids to tell me about what else I might like to read.
Less than impressed at the moment.
Much less usable.

OMG Horror of horrors we now have the "there have been other posts" notification when you click post :arghh::arghh::arghh:

Also clicking on the change width button on the bottom of the page makes the page progress sidebar on the RHS of the page disappear on my ipad so I've no idea where I am on the page. Not the biggest inconvenience but inconvenient nonetheless.
