I was aware this happened in livestock parts of the country but here in east anglia tenancies normally begin at Michaelmas....It's the time of year when ( historically) it it's most practical for farms to change hands. Fodder stocks at their lowest, muck spread, ready to turn stock out for the Spring. Better than moving after harvest and having to buy a years worth of production.

Brown and co have a sale at fakenham, just "up tha rud" from @spin cyle. There'll probably be a few stray/feral sheep running around the sale field going by what he says on the diary thread.???
