People round here seem a bit more curtious, but car drivers on main roads seem to have turned into nutters. Lack of traffic and open roads seems to turn people into nigel mansall
Would you spread chicken sh!t with no overalls on . Well i ain't ridin no bike without Lycra on .The non lycra clad ones are much more friendly I have found. Its normally them giving big waves.
Met a lycra clad one a few weeks ago with drill, folding combi drill. Pulled into a gateway on single track road and he refused to go past. Just stopped and looked. I admit I lack patience and at this point should have got out to see what the issue was. Anyway I just chose to pull out of gateway and continue through gap, engaging fan on drill and shot blasting him with spring barley.
Wasn't clever I know, but seemed a good idea at time.
R4 (or was it the other lot?) had a profile about Vera Lynne on this morning telling of the good work she did during the war and how she visited the troops in particularly remote parts to endorse the "together feeling, even visiting the expectant wives of soldiers in hospital to let them know she had spoken to their husbands. So much worse back then with fewer communications. HMQueen quoted her song, "We'll meet again". emphasising how we are all in this together.
Stay safe and be nice to each other.
Talking of “quiet” roads ... how much slurry will a Mazda MX5 hold?

no not just younothing its been a pleasure using the roads this easter weekend no caravans no queues no idiots who can only go forward no one complaining about the activity of the countryside spoiling their holiday plenty of smiles and hand waving (and not the sort that involves fingers or a wrist action) but still on an almost empty roundabout there is one moron who can not use the appropriate marked lane and tries to drive into me ,the only black cloud on the horizon is now I'm getting used to it I wont it to last for ever
A friend of mine had a similar conundrum years ago. He had pulled out at a junction and then a car came speeding along the road. He stopped and rolled back a few feet, only to hear a blast on a horn. Looked in his mirror and there’s a car behind him.
After loads more horn blasting he got out and went round. The splash plate and nozzle of his tanker had gone through the windscreen of a Mini Metro! He didn’t quite know what to say and they both just stared gobsmacked as the nozzle dripped sewage sludge onto the passenger seat!
I'm a cheery cyclist!I’ve never seen a cheery cyclist, virus pandemic or not! Just sweaty , grumpy middle aged men as normal!
They want to be thankful it was a drill and not slurry tankerThe non lycra clad ones are much more friendly I have found. Its normally them giving big waves.

And me, most impressive.Just seen a pic of it @Bald Rick
I have noticed the opposite. Due to more people about there is virtually no litter or dog turd bags, I presume it’s because the culprits are frightened someone might see them dropping it. Walkers and cyclists were all over the crops the first week like a rash even though the cross field paths are sprayed out. That has stopped mostly now though. I have witnessed some regulars educating a couple of teenagers on bikes about damaging the crops, so there are still some good people out there. One new thing for us, which is probably quite common in more urban areas. Had people walking there dog in our winter barley, which I didn't mind. Stage barley was at it wouldn't have done any harm. What p!ssed me off was they left all the litter from snack they had after in gateway. Really!? Have people no respect for countryside.
Other new 1 was a family, having a picnic in silage field. They were okay, took all litter with them and weren't doing any harm.
Was out for some family time/crop walking yesterday afternoon! Getting some filthy looks walking through spring barley fields with kids. Didn't want to stop and point out they were my crops and fields. Can just see them going home ranting on FB about this stupid family walking through farmers fields. Don't think the white x5 helps either. Think we're some idiots from the town. Should have bought a land rover.
How kind sir !I'm a cheery cyclist!
I'll send you a picture of me then you can say you have seen one.
Is this it?My friend would be most interested
