Has anyone had a price for feed quality beans recently?
Thought you were on malting contract?
Got barley leftover after malting contracts filled. Got fed up of malting job. They were only paying Ā£130/t for spot loads and rejecting lots. So just cooked it in drier and can sell some for feed if it gets to a decent price.
I averaged Ā£172/t on one contract so wouldn't call them worthlessAnother year or worthless contracts .
They seem to play the game better out of central
stores rather than off farm by certain posts on here.
Merchants sampling girl told me yesterday they are digging out previous samples thought to be too high in N to check germination as its back in the game.Offered Ā£132.50 for feed barley, December Uplift.....
You gotta convert it sometime!personally i think grain in a store is safer than cash in a bank right now ?
AThat actually works out better than my HC beans a couple of weeks ago at Ā£207.00
Done a bit of Dec 21 wheat at Ā£160.00 will keep selling a little bit every time it goes up a bit.
Goooo ooonnn????????Cash in the bank will incur a cost in the new year.
Neither am I, many years ago an old fellow warned me- 'don't sell what you haven't got!'Iām not a fan of selling crop i havenāt harvested yet -
So business money rather than personal savings? Before they do negative rates, banks will impose a charge on credit balances over a certain percentage of turnover. They want to stop folk holding cash.
So business money rather than personal savings?
Folk will move bank / moneyYup. They will call it "excessive cash balances".
