I read what the man said as tons per acre raise you ph but damages soil , 15kg wakes up soil and it corrects its own ph , worth trying I’d say not just discounting as ballocks because we have been told since the 50’s to put Tons on , tell them enough times and they believe it’s right for ever . I’m all for trying anything especially if it’s potential to save me a bloody fortune lol and if fails I will be the first to let you all know it’s rubbish 😂
Thank you yes that's what I was trying to say.
Also little and often and mixed with dung / slurry is the best way.

I’ve often thought about sticking some in the Above ground slurry store Cos I can tip it over the top , would it work or would it just sink to the bottom and left in the store ?
That's what I'm planning this year with my dirty water , 10kgs/ per load in the pit & stir.
I use mixed bedding lime in the calving shed.
Will use hydrated lime in dirty water.

I don’t think some of you are taking on board what the man said .
Well as someone who uses up to 2 ton of ground lime down to prilled lime at 200 kgs down tramlines if a feild needs a top up and would test everything once in 3 yrs, I have a fairly good idea whats going on from the resulting test and what the man is saying, but I have seen nothing to back up this claim.

Maybe your putting too much on ? That’s the claim. Try it ? Nothing to loose a lot to gain . Have you muck to spread livestock ?

Not much point putting prices as most places are paying over what they quote atm.

No your stimulating the soil biology, they do the neutralising.
Spreading 1 ton of lime is 1950s farming, the soil web was discovered in the 1980s so why do farmerrs still put on 1 ton of lime?
The modern soil scientists do not recommend high levels of lime , it's taking time to filter down to farmer level because most people want to sell us stuff.

Would be very interested in some details on this - can you put up any links? The chemistry part of me is struggling to think of a bio induced neutralising mechanism.
