If we get on both the base and the collars 100 cow system would be on farm for £7000.
Looked at sense time but not a huge fan of Semex.

We nearly did it last year as I am off farm alot, but grant was the push we needed. Always have been DIY Ai.

Currently on RMS, but considering options. 400+ cows, autumn block. RMS feels like a wodge of cash for 9 weeks of heat detection for 1/2 hr a day of looking at, and topping up chalk. Results are ok, but the reliefs can be hellish....
No independant techs about really, and am a bit afraid of cocking up with DIY.
Options???? Collars, peds, tags, chalk?? What is the current opinion?

We're in north wales, genus and LIC would be the only ones I'm aware of locally. Could get either in to serve. Very happy with our regular tech.
We left RMS and went to doing own heat detection and using independent tech (couple good ones in area) which has worked ok. I would say the prices genus were quoting for daily insemination call were so high that it wasn’t any cheaper than RMS but they were also chalking them for that money! So I would check prices first!

Had a price off genus the other day, area rep can't price a 6 week walk and chalk type service differently to a 365 one

Just resurrecting this thread, seriously looking at allflex sensehub for cows and heifers, be interested to hear how others are getting on, would be for a 330 cow autumn calving unit with 80 heifer replacements. Aim is to reduce workload but to also replace our heifer sync program with natural service and stop using stock bulls

Done all the above with cow manager very successfully. Can't see allflex will be much different.
80 out of 80 heifers served in 21 days.
Sole fertility input is to now serve the cows standing in the pen. Everything to get them in the pen now is fully automated.
