Stuck drain grid

Any tips on how to unjam a grid like this , I have cut the bolts holding the two halves together and tried lifting out with telehandler to no avail, tried tractor arm at full lift while banging grid with sledge hammer but still wont budge. Tried levering it out, only thing left is to cut it out but was wondering if I was missing a trick before I destroy it !

Maybe try using a real tractor
I'm shocked that a telehandler wasn't able to move it. Have you a blow torch?
I can't think how it's got such a hold...
Have you tried lifting the other side?

one in the road on Friday a local lifted it to see if it was blocked . Then proceded to drop half into the hole , took a bit of fishing in 2 foot of water to extract it

I would just hit it harder with a sledgehammer round the outside of it you’ve got nothing to lose if you’re going to cut it out anyway

Chain on the pickup hitch maybe? Pickup hitch is stronger than telehandler.

Put the weight on with the tractor and keep giving it a good bat around the edges with the hammer

Have tried that , but to be honest It's a bit dodgey given the lifting power involved should it suddenly fly out or the chain snap !

You could try running a thin cutting disc through ware the two half’s meet and hopefully ease some of the pressure.

Run 9inch grinder through the joint of the 2 half’s. You might be able to tell which side is tight after you’ve cut it?

Grinder on the edges and down the centre joint, thin cutting disc should be enough, it’ll be slightly loose for next time too!!
It won’t cause any hassle as it sits at the bottom.

Or pouring oil round the edges and leaving to soak!! Enviromentally friendly oil like veg oil or something might lubricate it. Thinking out of the box!!!

Tarmac lads would just use the vibration of the jack hammer to loosen any grids.

Cold chisel all round, then gas torch ,then water, then lift with hitch....something has to break.

Chances are you’ll be biting a new grid anyways so I’d go round giving it firm taps with a club hammer. Don’t hit the frame, just the grid.

This, with the run down the sides.
Did it on a solid manhole cover on a septic tank with a 4” cordless.

A bit of force on the chain & use a jack hammer either on the outside frame or grid - trying to get the metal vibrating to ease what stopping it from moving - best with a blunt tool.

Try pressure washing first.

If that doesn't work accetalyne torch warm to red & leave until cold, rinse & repeat.
