DAP mixed with spring barley seed how much?

Yes that’s the plan. Our drill is grain only. Plan is to premix seed and dap .

It was always fine in the 1960's and 70's, though drills had 2 compartments for accuracy.

Funny how a Massey 30 or before that 29 seemed to manage the job of combine drilling seed a some compound fert without the need for screens, electric cables, sensors, variable rate maps, GPs etc, etc, etc. hey ho.

You’ll get better response from the phosphate combine drilling it. All my crops get it in the seed row. Never seen any negative issues with it.

I wouldn’t worry we have sown up to 350kg/ha of 16/16/16 down the same spout as Spring Barley for years never a problem

Youngsters now think that unless every piece of equipment is controlled by a box in the cab they aren’t able to make any money or grow a crop.
there’s a time and place for both systems
When grain prices are low the cost of production with masses of technology that needs paying for doesn’t help.

Used to be common in Manitoba that canola was mixed with map to get it metered out better. Now most drills will accurately go down to 3 lbs an acre. Easiest way is know how much of each product in the mix and calibrate as normal. Nothing that old fashion math can’t work out. I wouldn’t fill the drill past half. That way you can give it a stir if it starts ti separate out from vibration
