one thing a vet told me once ( whilst I was trying to sort lame ewes) don’t underdose the ab , I was giving 5ml of alamycin to a 50kg hill ewe
Vet said give it 7ml as underdose is as bad as overdose 🤔 Anyway as @steveR , one jab of alamycin and one metacam , and that’s only if I’ve had to rummage around to get the lamb out

Just one dose of the anti-b variety the Vet recommends should be right, unless the lamb was rotten, and/or theVet gave specific instructions for the ewe. As per the rate on the bottle, and knowing what your ewes weigh. Definitely a NSAID, too, remembering the dose rate for sheep is not the same as for cattle ~ and the cattle dose is the one on the bottle.

I use 8ml Alamycin as my goto dose on teh EC ewes, so pull 10ml and adjust before injection.

Only treat when we have intervened internally...

Vet advises 3ml for our ewes of Metacam

I normally use long acting Betamox, although this year did use the daily Betamox as it was in the cupboard, but that’s for indoor lambing ewes. I think only a couple had a course of ab in the end. There were a few that just had pain relief and oxytocin which worked quite well, in my quest to reduce ab usage 😅

Don't forget the cull mark!

I had to lamb a quad last night, trying to have one forwards along with three back legs, all at the same time.
Should I give her a cull mark too?

If she looks a tad under the weather this morning, she’ll get a shot of Alamycin LA + Metacam. Nothing given routinely though, just because I had a hand in.
