Bad Feet - Indoor Finishing Lambs

Any tricks to minimise feet issues when finishing lambs indoors on straw bedding ? Or am I asking the impossible

I can’t work out why but I never get bad feet with lambs inside. Have 700 inside now and can honestly say not a lame one in them it must help just being on a stone base under the straw and have one shed with concrete and get more trouble there.

I have 15 left inside at moment, 5 badly lame, 7 recovering lame with a limp, 3 good. came inside 5 weeks ago not lame.

Try hydrated lime round water troughs and feeders

The only way I found was regular foot bathing in formalin. Even to the extent of everyday at times. The bath and temporary penning best set up in their pen. After a few days the lambs almost see it as a welcome distraction and run through almost unaided. Ideal to start before problems arise, otherwise between feed and warm litter it escalates very quickly.

we feed our ewes at lambing out in a yard , through a footbath of zinc sulphate every day , all good to go out after lambing no foot issues

Weekly footbath in 5% formalin. Handle them every week and spray anything lame with lincospectam. Don't let it get a hold.

We have had lambs in since August (different batches) and only had one lame. I cant work out why. We are wheat straw on stone. Put some on a concrete yard for a couple of days whilst i mucked out and noticed the straw over concrete was alot wetter.

When l used to feed a few hundred in side had to run them threw the foot bath every 10 days. That was on straw .
