Massey 50hxs hydraulics locked up

Hi hopefully someone can help, was using the back arm on the digger today and it stopped operating. When I operate a function there is slight movement, then nothing and you can hear relief passing. All rear functions are the same. It’s like something is preventing oil returning to tank?
Front loader is operating fine
Thanks in advance

I think it feeds the front spools first so it may be the relief valve for the back spools broken or jammed open ?
Yeah agree with feeding front first, strange thing is the relief only passes when a lever is operated, like it’s getting dead headed. I’ll get some gauges on tomorrow and see what they say

Ok wee update, disconnected line from stabiliser leg and managed to get it to retract so I could move to somewhere slightly drier. Put a pressure gauge on one of the lines, there’s about 300psi back pressure on the return line, and I’m only getting 700psi when I operate that function so I’m thinking relief valve is faulty?
Can anybody advise if it’s located behind the big plug on rear directly behind the supply hose, and a part number for it

I spoke with Chris parts man at Dobsons he gave me 2 part numbers

190bar 1897156m91
155bar 1471632m91

Both now obsolete.
He suggested trying to find who actually made the valve and see if they still have a relief for it, but I’m struggling to find any name plates
Thanks

You would probably buy a complete back arm cheaper than the spool block...................................................................................................................................

Yeah I know but hoping if I can identify block there might be a relief available under the manufacturers part as opposed to the Massey one

Can you test pressure between front and rear block without dead ending the circuit
Struggled for jic fittings so best I could was put a gauge on dipper ram hoses, max pressure was only 700psi, also there is 300psi in the return side.
There's not a relief on back control block, looks as though the front one covers full circuit.

So if there is only one Prv on front block and loader ok, where can pressure disappear to? If it lost power instantly would point to stuck valve right enough, a crack in casting would be a gradual loss of pressure usually. Is there a return to tank hose from front block (other than prv)? As oil must go somewhere if pressure not reaching rear block, I would have thought a relief would be in rear block too tbh

If there's no relief valve on the back, then the power beyond is a good place to look. As far as I know, it's not a valve, just a plug to block off the passage. Could have blown an O ring. If that doesn't show anything, then I'd check for leakage in the return off the loader valve when you operate the back, or disconnect the pressure line to the rear and check the pressure there, would have to be able to block the flow to do that, or see if it loads the engine and goes over the loader main relief.

I know the older 50's didnt have a relief vavle for the back block as we soon found out when we tried using the block on a hiab, had to fit one

Yeah there is a return to tank from front block which I presume takes return fluid from services and PRV with minimal back pressure, I’m thinking if there’s issue with power beyond sleeve then the majority of the fluid will be getting dumped to tank as easiest route. As it’s stuck in a wet field I’m thinking I’ll need to run a line from front 3rd service to back block just to get it operating as front block is tucked up beside gearbox
