Evening all,

Is anyone running a new tier 5 tm320s? I’m looking for driver opinions before I get a demo.

I reluctantly want to change my trusty TM300 and not particularly keen on a second hand 320 that has been worked hard. Low houred machines on the second hand market seem very hard to come by and strong money so considering new.

Interested to know if they’re as good as the dealers make them out to be. I only like getting a demo when I’m reasonably confident I might buy it, hence the request for reviews from trusted audience.
Thanks.

My current TM320 is just over a year old. It’s my 3rd TM320S, I swap every 4 years. This has been fine until 2 weeks ago when it went into limp mode loading the muck spreader. Asked for a stationary regen which I set in motion but an hour later still wasn’t sorted so ended up getting a visit from the dealer to plug laptop in and sort it.
A new 320S will be in a different league to a TM300. I used to have one but had quite a few niggly problems with it , especially hose wear around the pivot area. My previous 320s ended up having an adblue delete and can see the same happening with this one.

What do people find them like for buckraking, thinking of swoping a tractor out for one but don't want to get caught out with it not being man enough?

What are you buckraking for (sp/ wagon/ trailed)? We had a 320s but have changed it for a 420s. 320s was fine with one wagon but not enough for two. Tier 5 420s is basically the same thing beefed up. Very impressed with it from a driver's point of view, tho some of the finishes aren't as good as they should be.

Pushing from a 500 horse sp but most of our pits are small and awkward. pushing around corners and such. It would also have to feed up at the home farm and a 420 won't fit in our sheds

Are you planning on it being on its own or with another handler or tractor rolling? We use one with a small SP but cannot keep up on its own. It’s fine with a loadall helping or a tractor rolling.

What gearbox do you have with yours? Do you have to drive the TM320S on the brakes? Have a 2015 Schaffer on 7500 hours that's next in line for replacement. We took on a 542-70 Dualtech couple of years ago at my brothers place and very impressed with it but prefer the artic for shear grab work and visibility with dairy cows. Also have bought an extra yard for straw/livestock so would like something with 40K and towing capability, not a Schaffer strong point.

I push up our own silage. Contractor has a Class 870. I have upgraded to a 10ft fork on the front with long tines and have a tractor rolling for me as well.
