CS Payments

They checked and zero queries. Went from not being looked at to done in 2 hours. That's why this whole process is so annoying, it appears they literally can't be bothered. It would be different if it was their livelihoods being threatened.

So I know nothing!!

Had my bps claim summary letter and what I thought was bps+Cs is actually only bps! (Cs claim not very big!!)

Online Cs shows on claim validation stage, anyone else still on this stage??
Yes still on claim validation.

Called them to see if any problems, told that it should be paid by the end of June 24 and they will get to looking at it when they get around to it.

It does not inspire confidence in joining the SFI scheme!

Ring up and explain that you're thousands of pounds invested into the scheme you've supported and if they don't pay you now you're in financial trouble. Point out that the RPA bankrupting farmers isn't a good look and surely not one of their aims. If you get a decent person, they will help. If they won't. it's shameful.

Before you enter into the scheme you have to prove that you can afford to do the works anyway. With my fencing agreement I had to get a letter from the accountant saying I could afford it.

I think you need a letter if your capital works are over £50K

Mine are in the high £40K's and I didn't have to have one. Having said that the majority of mine had to be signed off by Catchment Sensitive Farming but that had nothing to do with finances.

The problem is at any roadshow, or any event trying to promote stewardship uptake etc, they've been saying payment will be prompt, don't worry, we understand your cashflow needs etc. Nobody can run a business where the payment date is at the discretion of whether some civil servant, probably working from home, can be bothered to actually do what they're meant to!

Yes, do the works up front, but we must be paid. Being paid in December for an agreement that starts the previous January is a long enough wait anyway.

One of ours paid today. Fortunately it's the bigger, new one. No sign of the existing, Year 4, agreement, which has been paid no drama every year. The RPA are a shambles.

I had a painful 10 minutes on the phone yesterday with them. I asked for a call back and was told no one will be able to do anything as to what is being discussed. 'kin joke.

Note to anyone ringing over lunchtime, don't bother as the automated bloke will tell you "we are experiencing a higher than normal levels of calls at the moment, please leave your number for a call back".

Absolutely hopeless organisation, CSS agreement paid Dec 3 last year.
Paperwork completed and sent in March this year with no changes and all I can get out of them is there is nothing wrong with your paperwork and payment will be with you by June 2024.

No one is going to go near this again, at least with the arable crops you can sell for cash flow when you need to.

I get the impression, assuming they haven't employed extra staff for the SFI scheme, that they have downed tools on CSS and started to sort the SFI's out instead.

I think you may well be right on this, whole thing is appallingly run and no one of any authority is available to talk to.
