Have gone back into tillage here around 70 acres so far prob go to 100 from all sheep setup. Contractor does most of the tillage work, I do rolling, reseeding, cover crops and draw grain trailer etc myself. Have 15 yr old 110 hp Agrotron with loader that I really like, but do need more HP for roller with tines & trailer.
Considering buying maybe 20 yr old MX 170 Case as second tractor as wouldn’t be huge hours needed & keep the Deutz for loader & lighter work like mowing / topping or would I be better trading Deutz for newer tractor and jus my keep the one machine.

anyone do anything similar

I battled with 1 tractor and have a second this last couple of years definitely the better option. Deutz would be perfect for fert spreader and sprayer. The bigger MX for the plough and combi (if you chose to take more in house) you will as it’s the only way you’ll get a roi of the bigger tractor and for those acres.

Personally I think your existing tractor is more than adequate for 100ac of arable with the heavy work contracted out, having done all the work on 100ac arable in the past with older and smaller tractors than your deutz. But if you can make enough money to justify it/you just want to, buy the mx (which was mainline tractor on 1000ac farm i worked on not so long ago).
