Have tried several times now to grow stubble turnips behind potatoes, but found that the residual herbicide left over from treating the potato crop, stunts the turnips growth (even after ploughing). Does anyone else have experience of this ? And does anyone have any suggestions for a catch crop...
B.B.C 2 Horizon last night just said that the average potato crop is sprayed 32 times in a growing season?!

pretty sure I heard it right I can't remember them being sprayed that much when we grew them
As I opened our pack of Jersey Royal potatoes this evening ,I thought where do all these New Potatoes come from such a small Island.
One sees Jersey Potatoes being grown on very steep hillsides for publicity shots,BUT when I look at Jersey Royal Potato co ,the fields in the pics look nice...

just wondering what the best auto soil probe is? wintex seem to be the most popular but never see any second hand ones for sale. i will be mostly doing grids, normal w and some pcn.
