Hi everyone
I hope I haven't missed the forum.
I've recently become part of a project that's trying to develop innovative micronutrient testing in agriculture, particularly focusing on iron and manganese. Our main goal is to enhance soil analysis and overall crop health.
So, I'm super...
Currently we don’t have any apart from knowing how much solution to use.

Mortellaro is an issue that many cattle farmers have to deal with; it is a stubborn hoof disease that can occur on all cattle farms.
Also known as digital dermatitis or Italian footrot, once it arrives onto your farm it is often hard to control and...
I have a handful of lambs that I’m trying to finish but they seem to have lost their appetite. I’ve been feeding them creep and recently been able to do this ad-lib but they just don’t seem interested. The field they’re in isn’t brilliant for grass now but they also have access to a shed with...
Hello, I have some Hampshire cross lambs and one of them seems to have an ongoing skin issue, none of the others have it. There is a sort of yellow crust in their wool across their back about 5mm above the skin. On one patch it has gone darker brown rather than yellow. Any ideas what it is...

Under request from @Bokey I have decided to dedicate a thread to the trials and tribulations on the farm, I shall endeavour to splice the good with the bad. A bit about us, 600 acres all told, 450 cropable, 8 years into organic, mainly arable with a few wooly critters, an impatient old man and...
Last year I painted our mixing tank with two coats of red oxide followed by a top coat of bitumen paint.
12 months later and quite a lot of the bitumen paint has flaked off and in several places so has some of the red oxide so it’s back to bare metal.
Is there anything I can use that will last...

We have purchased prilled Urea for next spring and have the option to have sulphur added to it before it’s batched and delivered. We would usually use CF Double Top to provide the crops requirements for SO3 in a single dose. If we want to apply the first 2 doses to OSR WW WB with a urea sulphur...

Am I right that copper sulphate is not as safe for sheep and lime is ok?
If so - what type of lime...
