How are people getting on with zyatt since it was released? Protein? Yield (grain and straw), bushel? Fungicide spend?

    Soil analysis and flat crops

Anybody ever looked into this? Got a field that every year the crops go flat. The last osr crop back in 2012 went down and since then in no particular order - spring barley, spring wheat, winter rye, winter wheat and even a couple of cover crops (mainly mustard) have gone flat in places. Prior...

    Revystar Experience

We have used Revystar on Spring Barley at "paint brush" for ramularia and it is disappointing. We used Adexar type (old stock) as a T2 on wheat and I thought we had too much septoria. My independent agronomist brought some plants from a neighbour who had used Revystar (same variety) and it was...

    T3

Anyone warrant doing a T3 this year? Growing skyfall and is a bit of yellow rust around so may do a cheapo one involving Tebuconazole

    T2

So, T2 has always been the big spend. Is this Revystar the complete dogs danglies? Because £45/ha gets me a lot of other chem.

Scottish growing sector faces pros and cons due to mixed weather

Written by William Kellett Following an exceptionally dry spring in 2020, many were hoping for a more ‘normal’ spell of spring weather in 2021. However, the weather over the past month has been predominantly dry for most, along with being exceptionally cold, with the Met Office provisionally...

    Winter wheat T1 2021

Ok, what are your plans for T1? Back in April when it was looking like another drought I was thinking keep it cheap! However we’ve now had A LOT of rain and 90% of the wheats are looking like they have some good potential. So, my and my agronomist thoughts are to go with a more robust T1 His...

    Sustainable?

I'm not an arable man but keep an eye on hat's happening and am interested in the way the industry is headed. A fella near us has been sowing spring barley after getting caught out in the back end and left with a few hundred unsown acres. Most fields were disced twice, subsoiled, roterrad...

    Planet Spring barley fungicide

Have used 0.5l/ha Jaunt (Fluoxastrobin(75g/l) Prothioconazole(150g/l) Trifloxystrobin(75g/l)) the last couple of years with good results( have both been very dry springs with low levels of disease). With the loss of CTL what are people using this year?

    Anyone growing hybrid rye?

I’m growing rye for the first time this year. I’ve got hybrid variety Serafino. It follows wheat, straw baled, stubble raked, drilled last week of September with JD750a. The issue I have is that it is thin in the swath rows. I take it that it doesn’t like the toxins from the wheat chaff. Has...

    State of your crops?

Given the late drilling date and the amount of rain that’s gone on them I’m pleasantly pleased with the state of my crops. I do have two small fields that are below par but most are looking well. How are others looking? Wheat and barley below, no rape this year but locally it looks well.
