£100,000 of stolen machinery recovered in North Warwickshire

Stolen farming and construction machinery valued in excess of £100,000 has been recovered in Bedworth, North Warwickshire.


The machines seized include:

  • A John Deere 4520 tractor;
  • An Ifor Williams cattle trailer;
  • A Spearhead TWIGA Pro hedge-cutter;
  • A JCB telehandler;
  • A Takeuchi mini excavator; and
  • A New Holland excavator.

PC Andy Timmins from Warwickshire Rural Crime Team was involved in the recovery operation.

He said: “On Wednesday a stolen John Deere tractor was identified and seized in the Bedworth area by local officers.

A male dealt with at the scene was found to be wanted on a warrant for failing to appear at court in relation to driving while disqualified so was arrested and kept in custody to the next available court.

“On Friday [March 13], I attended a location near Bedworth with Sergeant Bob Shaw and PC Craig Purcell from the Team to follow up on this investigation.

“Working with Chris Piggott from the National Vehicle Crime Intelligence Service we identified the stolen machinery.

“All have been recovered and we’ve also identified suspects that are now sought for questioning.”
