mine was around 480 last year.....I just divided it by 360 days and thought £1.30 per day is cheap and better then getting the bus. people with £30 tax are saving £1.22 per day

Or look at it another way, compared with the OP, the best part of £5000 saved over the ten years the Fiesta will hopefully last, which should get me a very decent replacement!people with £30 tax are saving £1.22 per day

you can make anything look worthwhile over 10 years!! 5 pints per week is £8320 over ten years, a fancy coffee at Starbucks every morning- £7000, loo paper, one roll per week, £365, pack of fags per day £25,500, 3 bottles of wine per week..£11,000. Now flip it and I bet all the non smokers aren't walking around with £25k in their bank, or the non drinkers have £11k under the mattress, so unless you are putting your £1.22 per day in a little jar, it'll just get used up with other expenses.

I was was pointing out that huge amounts cut up into little chunks, eg daily, or even hourly, or per mile if you want, can be made to look insignificant if you want.
Whichever way you look at it, I'd much rather pay out my £30 a year for my work car, than shell out £500+.

Cars are tax free at 40? I didn't know that. ..what an informative lot you are. Got 1977 ser 3 landy (tick) and 1984 v8 110..few more years to go...but my Nissan leaf is free already... (smug devil)...

Tax rates are changing next year for new cars: So by 2022 you'll be able to buy a 5 yr old top of the range 4x4 with a massive engine and only pay £140/yr in tax..........

No no no, cart springs, a weak crank, high front roll centre unless you ruin any ride comfort and put it onto the bump stops......I'll let you off if it's one of these.
Far more speed, handling, comfort, and no bodywork tinworm.
And a v6 purr that removes female underwear faster than brass rubbings or any etchings

Reminds me of a mate of mine who was crowing about his road tax only costing him thirty quid a year. He wasn't so smug when I was rolling on the floor laughing after discovering his hundred and odd quid a year 'saving' had just cost him eighteen thousand pounds sterling.
