Asked my local butcher's where their pork came from a few years ago, answer was a wholesaler in Birmingham. I bought half a dozen eggs and haven't been back since.
At least at a supermarket I can choose something with a tractor on it and a sell by date instead of a lump of something in a plastic bag.
The chip shop has got propaganda on the wall about all their fish being line caught sustainable, when I looked up the boat (that they said supplied them) it was a massive trawler from scandinavia.
I think people are keen to make positive choices but it's not easy sometimes.

Also, pigs are not "Muslim kryptonite" they just don't eat them.you don't need to be muslim to work in an halal abattoir surely

It makes me question the label on that pack of pork. Why would a pig processing unit be registered halal?

Appears to be proper British Halal pork!

The pack label doesn't say Halal, does it? The second photo is a screenshot from a blog which appears to be run by a Mohammed Saleem, but again it doesn't claim that meat is halal, just that his website has 'Halal' as part of its name.
