Yep completely agree.Tractor or truck doesn't really matter when the hitch is rated for 3500kg max regardless.
Its down to finding the right trailer I guess, we have put the box on our bailey bale trailer before. But that was a fair bit longer than needed and taller than the lorry body so it ending up not being very maneuverable for the smaller lanes and field entrances, make you want to go back to the lorry. There must be the right sized bale trailer out there somewhere I supposeBuy a good bale trailer and put your box on it then sell wagon as a flat
With a 16ft 65-70Tractor or truck doesn't really matter when the hitch is rated for 3500kg max regardless.
See plenty of them wagon drag trailers in machinary sales for a lot less than that
With a 16ft 65-70
Porter trailers make a 16ft. Not sure what you'd do with it though as that hitch looks to be a 3.5 ton hitch. 14ft would put you over the limit fully loaded. Limited market for it. Fully loaded, you'd want to tow with a tractor, so would probably be better of with a tractor trailer which would have no capacity issues. With decks in and filled properly how over weight will I be

If going down this road, make sure that the trailer bed height doesn't result in an overly steep tripper - would break your heart trying to load up an overly steep rear door. That
That is seriously tidy!
Nock Deighton have a 24ft Graham Edwards trailer in a farm sale on the 10th of October, looks the part.Anyone know the best place to look for larger livestock trailers you can tow behind a tractor? preferably second hand. We're thing of getting rid of 15t cattle lorry and getting a trailer instead. Too much hassle with HGV licenses and lorry upkeep.
Cant seem to see many advertised online though
All trailers have the same ramp style until you get to a Houghton that has an ultra low approach angle , low pivot height and a planked tailgate like the wagons now haveLots of choices in livestock trailers and we have always had IWT. The big issue for us is loading our fairly docile cattle quickly and easily because:
1. The step up to the ramp seems to put them off
2. The ramp is made of metal and is noisy (even with straw) as the cattle feet go down on it.
Are any of the alternative trailers any better?

Keep the IWT and get a fabricator to make a galvanised pivot holder lower than the existing pivot point and a planked construction tailboard .Lots of choices in livestock trailers and we have always had IWT. The big issue for us is loading our fairly docile cattle quickly and easily because:
