Apologies this has probably been covered in past.

Can anyone tell me tractor hp requirements for NH 640 baler. Also where can you obtain manuals

check belts, holes and fraying as they are endless can be joined but need to check join every year, checxk rollers after belts are loose for tightness or rumbling [bearing's], check chains and sprockets not cheap, more so if it's done a lot of bales count is in box, check tyres if one is worn on one side it means stub axle was not straight when made [ known fault], check pick-up tines and excessive wear in guide rollers early ones only had guide on one side.....

Thanks for really helpful reply. Any idea where you can get old manuals?

Think they are available from eBay.
We have a 648. Run it on 80hp Mccormick or 90hp Deutz, no difference between them, that’s on hilly ground in East Sussex.
